Sharing ideas, strategies and finding solutions to common problems improves well being in staff and students as well.
School is a complex organism and nobody could survive on their own. Trust is the key word. Teachers should trust their colleagues and not be afraid od asking for help, when needed, or offer their help in return. Students and parents should trust teachers because they are the education experts at school; teachers should trust students in return because they are at school for a purpose.
A reasonable amount of documentation of the teacher’s work has to be done: it is important to leave a trace of one’s work and it is important to share it with colleagues. Technology and digital repositories play an important role in documentation as well as teaching material production. Technologies may save time and offer new means of creating relevant materials for students; of course technology helps when it works well: poor internet connection, obsolete computers and lack of software may be an issue and create additional problems. Last but not least: digital natives are at ease in a digital environment.
